This are a pair of vintage
Big Block Chevrolet Baldwin Motion
Aluminum Finned Valve Covers
These were found in a machine shop which went out of business
.
They have wrinkle black paint on them and it looks like they were
repainted because areas some don't have the wrinkle finish. The
valve covers themselves are in good condition, the paint needs to be
redone though they could be used as is if that doesn't bother you.
They have '739 JAPAN' cast on the inside. My research on the Super
Car Registry said the valve covers with that cast on the inside were made
in Japan in the early '70's when the demand was so high for these, Ansen
subbed out the work to Japan and then they were shipped back to the
states via container and sold through Ansen.
