    Description

From my personal collection for your consideration: a handsomely framed final production drawing (full-size) of a caricature of legendary comedian W.C. Fields as Humpty Dumpty (ca. 1937) from Disney's
    Mother Goose Goes Hollywood
(1938). The drawing is framed with a reproduction of the film's poster and a small reproduction of a model sheet of Fields and ventriloquist dummy Charley McCarthy (of Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy fame), his nemesis in the Humpty Dumpty segment. The image appears about 3:12 into the cartoon (please see the screen capture).
    DESCRIPTION/CONDITION:
The frame is 21.25” x 17.38” and glazing is with glass. There is a hanger on the top back of the frame. The graphite and red pencil drawing (from which a cel was made) is 8.25” x 4.75” and is on a full-size five peg hole Disney animation sheet. It was cleverly framed to allow it to easily slide out of a sleeve mounted on the back of the mat. Please see the composite photos of the full sheet and a close-up of just the drawing and the drawing with the screen capture, showing the image in the scene in which it appears in the cartoon. The sheet is in excellent condition and is lighter than as seen in the photos. It shows only very light age toning and handling.

The framed piece was angled slightly to reduce glare and reflections when photographed and thus does not appear absolutely square in its photo. The listing is for the framed drawing as shown. The screen capture is for illustration only. I would consider selling only the drawing.
